Kyle’s Targets
William Byron | $10,400 | Starting 31st
While most of Hendrick Motosports was pretty underwhelming on Saturday, William Byron looked great. Unfortunately for the 24 team a mistake on hi s qualifying lap led to a wreck that will have him starting much closer to the back than he should be.
However, those of us playing DFS will get to benefit from this mishap. In fact, Byron’s team was able to fix his primary ride and they will not have to go to the back up car this week.
At Pocono, Byron has been really strong. He has the second best driver rating of active drivers behind Denny Hamlin. His finishing results prior to last year don’t tell the whole story. Willy B has been in the top 5 after Stage 2 in 5 straight races at Pocono. He has led laps in 3 of his last 5 starts including 60 in 2023.
Now, expect to have a good amount of company rostering the 24. He will be in 30ish percent of lineups in most contests. But that feels very reasonable given his starting position combined with his potential upside.
Chris Buescher | $8,800 | Starting 2nd
I truly believe Chris Buescher can be a real contender here for a win and someone that can be a potential pivot if you want to get off of Denny’s massive roster percentage. This is especially true if you want to jam in Byron, Blaney, Larson, etc.
Our friends over at Win the Race had the 17 as the best car in practice. Something that helped me get more excited about his potential on Sunday.
While Buescher doesn’t have finishes at Pocono of late, he has ran decently well here. This track has been kind to RFK overall over the years including to team owner Brad Keselowski who has two top 7 finishes over the past four season.
Obviously Denny could dog walk the field or Buescher could be closer to a top 10 car than a true race winner but I the play has potential. It combines game theory with a car that showed on Saturday that it can be a true challenger.
AJ Allmendinger | $6,100 | Starting 33rd
A return to a full time Cup ride has been something AJ Allmendinger has really taken advantage of. Normally he is just someone that really needs to take advantage of road courses to find a win if he wants to even sniff a playoff spot. But Dinger has been awesome at intermediates this season including 4th at Charlotte, 8th at Vegas and 7th at Darlington.
At Pocono has been fine but nothing stellar. But starting 33rd allows him to useful if he is just fine. But given what we have seen thus far at intermediates, his upside is even higher. He is a fantastic piece to make a lineup with elite options work.
Cash Shell for Pocono
For this weeks cash shell I am trying to pair either Byron or Blaney with Denny. Then I’d like my next click to be one of Bowman or Bubba, if not both. This gives you a solid base especially if Hamlin dog walks the field.

Kyle’s Plays
Christopher Bell +125 vs Tyler Reddick (Caeesars) 5 U
Chase Elliott +160 vs Tyler Reddick (Bet365) 2 U
As much as it is very off brand for me, I am fading Tyler Reddick. The 45 seems broken. He has one finish inside the top 10 (Nashville) since Darlington and that was in the first week of April.
Now I can fade him with two reliable options who get solid finishes and have the upside to contend for wins. And I get to fade him with +130 with Bell and +160 with Elliott. I was on Elliott +130 prior to practice and qualifying. I saw nothing on Saturday that would make me come off of that.
What Reddick shove it in my face at a track where he has been good in the past. Maybe its the charter stuff, maybe its engineering issues, what ever it is clearly something is wrong with 23XI. Ill take my chances with the sizable plus money plays.
